In 2017, the Fairbanks North Star Borough (FNSB) mayor assembled a working group comprised of downtown-minded community members to lead this planning process. They have continued to meet regularly throughout this process and play an active role in the development of a new downtown plan.
As plan components are drafted, you'll have an opportunity to review and comment. When a complete plan is drafted, it will go through the public process of review and adoption, including work sessions and public hearings at the Planning Commission and the Assembly.
